Music & Movement
Baby Bops
Baby Bops is a stimulating music and movement class for babies from 3 months to walking. You and your baby play together as part of the group, singing rhymes and action songs and dancing to rhythmic melodies. We draw on a wide variety of musical styles to develop your baby’s love of music. You then explore colours and textures with your baby, stimulating their senses with a variety of visual and tactile props. Finally you practice relaxation techniques to calm and soothe your baby.
Studies show that early exposure to music and rhythm lays the foundation for a lifelong love of music and the development of motor skills. The physical closeness and eye-contact between you and your baby strengthens your emotional bond, and the variety of experiences helps them to achieve their key milestones.
Toddly Bops

Toddly Bops is a fun filled music and movement class for toddlers to 3 year olds. This structured session is based around a variety of musical styles and contains four key elements. We begin with singing and action songs, encouraging the children to sing in tune and move to a beat. We then focus on rhythm, where the children express themselves with a variety of percussion instruments including bells, maracas, castanets, drums, xylophones and cymbals. During the movement focus they crawl through tunnels, balance on balance boards, and play fun games using hoops, bean bags, balls, etc. As with all our classes, the session winds down with gentle relaxation exercises.
Early childhood, a period of rapid change and development, is a critical period in a child’s musical growth. This session provides a positive environment in which to develop key skills. Learning song lyrics enhances your child’s language skills and memory. Cooperating as part of a group promotes social skills such as taking turns, sharing and following simple instructions. The focus on movement increases body awareness and motor skills, which are linked to improved self-esteem.
Dancing Tots
Dancing Tots is a creative music and movement class for 3 to 5 year olds. The class begins with a warm-up based around familiar action rhymes. The movement section is centred around an exciting children’s story, providing the springboard for exploring different music and dance styles. We continue to encourage children to develop their sense of rhythm by expressing themselves using a variety of percussion instruments. As always we end with gentle relaxation exercises, where free movement is encouraged.
Dancing Tots introduces elements of drama, helping your child to develop creativity, imagination, confidence and empathy. The musical focus builds on the previous classes, encouraging further musicality and rhythm. Together, the musical, physical and dramatic skills are the core skills for all varieties of dance, and so provide excellent preparation for our ballet, musical theatre or our Funky Kidz classes. Because Dancing Tots satisfies the criteria for the Royal Academy of Dance’s pre-primary syllabus, there is an option, should you so wish, for your child to be entered into Demonstration Classes (this is by no means compulsory).
For Boys
Football Tots is a fun-packed physical activity session for those budding Premiership stars aged from 3 years. The sessions develop balance, coordination and gross motor skills using hoops, cones, balance boards, bean bags, nets and balls. A variety of fun games focus on the core skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting. An exciting introduction to our national sport.
